I needed to sell the house fast or face foreclosure

Foreclosure can happen very quickly when you can’t afford to pay your mortgage or insurance.

When my husband lost his job at the factory, he stopped paying support for me and the kids.

I was using the support money to pay the house payment. After 2 months, there was no end in sight. I knew it was necessary to consider all possibilities and options. My mom offered to let the kids and I move in with her so I could sell the house and get rid of the expensive payment. I did not want the house to get foreclosed, so I spoke with a company in Jacksonville that offers cash for homes. The Jacksonville real estate company offered me a buy out that included paying all of the back fees. My husband didn’t want me to sell the house in Jacksonville, but he could not come up with any other plan to keep it. When I sold the property, I got $10,000 more than I owed to the bank. I was happy to have any money at all. My husband wanted half of the money from the sale of the house, but I did not offer him any of the settlement. It was his fault that that house had to be sold and I wasn’t going to reward him for not paying his support and losing his job. We are happy living with my mom and it’s nice for her to see more of the grandkids. Unfortunately, the two hour move north makes it harder for my husband to see the kids and they miss their Dad.
